Titanic (1997)

This movie was out in 1997- I was about 4 years old. Last night wasn't the first time I saw it, obviously, but last night was the first time I cried over the movie, which still is a legend in boxoffice as well as the cinematographic world as a whole.

I am always a huge fan and admire of Leonardo DiCaprio. A HUGE fan.. I once wrote a letter to him, never got a reply of course but I'm not always writting a fan letter, if you must know.

Titanic was, of course, the first movie of his I saw but it wasn't until The Departed that I fell in love with this striking blue eyed boyish man. And then there's Blood Diamond, Shutter Island, and many more. His new movies are always stalked and waited and seen. I even watched his really early works such as What's Eating Gilbert Grape and The Basketball Diaries.

I will talked about the others later because now, it's about Titanic.

I am Downtonised ❤

These past few months I've been completely drowning into good stories-hunting, which means lots of movies and lots of books. Well, not exactly movies but episodes of some TV-series I found really good. REALLY. GOOD. It really needs to be repeated to accentuate the meaning.

This time, my newest fangirling episode focused on the one, and one only, genre: Historical Romance.  I'm quite familiar with the genre and was actually crazy about it before, when I was 17 or 18 because of Bridgerton Series by Julia Quinn. Then the madness faded, not because I was bored, but more because I couldn't find any other stories comparable to The Duke And I or The Viscount Who Loves Me (both are the first and second book of the mentioned series by Julia Quinn). Until last few months when the limited access of internet forced me to find another source of entertaiment: books. I began to read books again and was shortly welcomed by the familiar feeling with words and sentences, that build up beautiful stories. I love that feeling.

I read mostly Julia Quinn's and Eloisa James', both are historical romance authors. I finished dozens of their works in weeks and my daily daydreaming soon influenced by it. The time when gentlemen rode horses and wore high hats, the ladies changed clothes six times a day and lived only to find the most agreeable husband, and so on. There are simple story lines: beautiful girl searched for husband, who mostly an aristocrat, extremly rich, and, fortunately, they fall in love with each other. Of course, there'll also be one or more missunderstandings in the way.

I do nothing else but read, even now when the new semester had begun. I am so enjoying reading good stories and let my imagination goes wild, that I'm becoming a trash: just lying there on the bed for hours and read. People would have no idea how hard it is for me, to leave my bed and book each day to, well, become human, which includes going to classes and doing the assignments. To be honest, eating and sleeping wasn't even on the top of my priority-list anymore these days.

But then I feel something wrong with my eyes, I couldn't see as clearly as before. I went to check my eyes and they said nothing was wrong. My sister then told me to stop reading in the mean time and let my eyes to rest. So, unfortunately, I had to put down the books. I then started to go online again and found some new-seemingly-interesting series: Da Vinci's Demons and Masters of Sex. Both are period series (still historical) and finished within a week. At the end there's not really a break for my eyes. *evil laugh*

Strangely, I feel my sight got much better now. Maybe there's a different effect from reading than watching, I don't know.

After finishing both series, which are really highly recommended so to say, I began to put my eyes on Downton Abbey, a famous successful british TV-series since 2010. It sets in years short before the World War I (1914-1918) and also afterwards.

I've been planing to watch Downton Abbey since years ago, even when I was still in Indonesia. But I always missed it on TV and I don't like to watch from the middle or with skipped episodes, so I chose not to watch and will try to find the DVDs or stream it later instead. Unfortunately, I never got the time or mood until last week. With all the historical romance feeling blooming inside me, I finally tried the first episode. Then the second. The third. And so on. I found myself not able to stop watching and I finished all 4 completed-series and the uncompleted fifth serie in a week. And then here comes the real madness.

How It Broke My Heart

-Spoilers Alert-

"If it wasn't gonna happen with Robin, then it's just not gonna happen with anyone." -Barney Stinson (How I Met Your Mother Season 9 Finale, "Last Forever")

As you people may have already known, I'm a definite member of Barney Stinson's and his awesomeness' team. To be honest, through the second season I did like Ted-Robin couple very much but I was reminded by the "Aunt Robin" the Ted's kids said back in the season one (when they introduced Robin for the very first time), so I quickly erased all hope I have for Ted-Robin-ship.

Then they made an idea of Barney and Robin (read it like Batman and Robin, it's more fun; trust me!). I LOVE it. I LOVE it. I really really LOVE it. They just belong to each other; drinking scotch, smoking cigars, playing lasertag, etcetera. They are so perfect together for god's sake. Even when I watched the series again from season one, I find it really obvious that they were made for each other. This episode in season one (episode 14 Zip,Zip,Zip) , when Barney and Robin had their bromance started, that's when I realized they GOT to be together someday.

Through all seasons, through all NINE seasons, I was deeeply touched by how Barney matured and changed for love. I mean, he IS Barney Stinson, who wrote The Bro Codes and The Playbook. THAT Barney Stinson. That man could fell in love so deeply, he proposed in the most romantic way ever since what Ross told Rachel in his parent's anniversary party (and it was only a plan and was never done, so yeah, Barney nails it!). I have watched that proposal episode like millions of times and still, it moves me.

How cute they are together :'''3

Love Medicine - Joo Won (Good Doctor OST)

English: POP!GASA

When you miss a person,
 no matter how much
 you push them
It’s like trying

to stop a young child

Everything that fills my eyes is you
I only look at you,

who doesn’t know my heart
Though it hurts

Wind blows in my heart,
stepping on the countless scars
Though I know love is painful
My heart beats once again
I want to believe

that our love
isn’t momentary

but is like destiny

We’re resembling each other,
even the little things

The way you talk,
even your laughter

You have become my home

in my life
With your warm touch
You make me live, only you

Wind blows in my heart,
 stepping on the countless scars
Though I know love is painful
My heart beats once again
I want to believe

 that our love
isn’t momentary

but is like destiny

My cold and frozen heart
The person who

made it race again is you

My Addiction to 2013 Korean Dramas ♥

As I've mentioned in the last post, I'd like to make another review-list about my most recent favourite korean dramas (you can read my last reviews here).

This time, it's not easy though, because there are many great dramas this year, great stories, great actors/actresses and not to mention, some new talents and come-backs. I've watched so many dramas and it'll be a loooooong list, if I put everything I've seen these past ten months. Also, I watched some old dramas, which aired 1-3 years ago instead of 2013, and some of them made to the list.

So, I decided to review just the best five in my personal opinion :). Enjoy.

-Not in order *SPOILER ALERT*

     1. King of Baking, Kim Tak Gu (a.k.a. Bread, Love and Dreams) - 2010

    Episodes: 30

This one is exceptional. I've heard about it since years ago, but never made myself to watch it. Reason: they are new actors I've never seen before and, at the time, I was into other things (2008-2011 is the time of my hiatus periods as kdrama-addict, I may say). Besides, I thought it would be a drama with cliche from kitchen-setting drama: some used-to-be-famous bakery, which almost broke down; the boss would be some cold-genious baker, who ended up with one of his ordinary workers; love triangle; unrecuited love; and so on.

I was NEVER so wrong before.

It took me 3 years to finally touch its first episode. What makes me decided to watch it, you ask? It's Joo Won! Well, to be honest, earlier this year I almost watch KTG after I finished "Flower Boy Next Door" (another drama with Yoon Shi Yoon and Park Shin Hye as the leads). Yes, Yoon Shi Yoon almost became the reason I watch KTG. But his charms wasn't enough to make me take down all its 30 episodes.

Later, when I'm already owned by Joo Won and I've watched everything of his but this one, I finally clicked the 'play'-button. I thought, I have even seen all 58 episodes of "Ojakgyo Brothers" for Joo Won, why couldn't I watch a 30 episodes drama, which was his first work on TV and was so famous, it became his 'small' breakthrough. Actually, I was a little bit afraid, that I might hate him after watching KTG because he's supposed to be the bad man. But again, I was wrong! xD

It is actually a story about life itself with breads and baking on the background, of course.

My Addiction to K̶o̶r̶e̶a̶n̶ ̶D̶r̶a̶m̶a̶s̶ Joo Won ♥

I may live in Germany right now, an official western country where people naturally have blonde hair, high nose, and deep green eyes. BUT, this asian minds and heart of mine still and will always be captured with those beautiful people in our huge eastern continent. Yes, those handsome, dark haired and small eyed men out there. To be exact, they live in Korea.

I know, I might seem not so patriotic to be completly crazy-freak over men from another country, sooo much more, instead of any indonesian actors (hey, I love Nicholas Saputra and... Nope. Just him). Who's to be blamed? If only indonesian actors and actresses have like a half of dedication these actors from Korea (or any other country with blooming, successful film industry) in any of their works, I might turn my eyes and watch them a little bit more. And also these indonesian film makers should be more creative in making stories. I mean, most of time I could guess the story just by seeing the uncreative titles.

To be fair, not all indonesian cinematographers are sucks. Some of them are exellent, that means they don't do TV-dramas or, just like we call it in indonesian, sinetron. There are many indonesian movies worth watching. :)

Anyway, I'd like to write about my recent KDramas-addiction.

    Quote: Bridal Mask

Hey, this is one of the best quotes in Bridal Mask

    -Episode 14

In the underground room, where the people are tortured, Lee Kang To asked Damsari about the reason they insisted to fight againts the Japanese Empire, although all of their forces seemed to be useless.

"Isn't that like hiting a boulder with an egg?" said Kang To.

And here is how Damsari answered:

"I suppose it looks reckless of course.
One eggshell, such a trivial thing, will probably just shatter on the boulder.
However, no matter how strong a boulder is, it's dead.
While, no matter how weak an egg is, it's alive.
As time passes, a boulder will break and become sand.
But, someday, a chick will hatch from an egg and step on that sand."

It makes me thingking about my life so far and all of the hardships. It tells us not to give up and keep fighting because someday, the good time will surely come.. :')

King Of Baking, Kim Tak Gu - Goo Ma Jun and Shin Yu Kyung Cuts Collections

My favorite couple is here!! xD

Although the drama was aired like 3 years ago, I've just finished all 30 episodes 2 weeks ago.

    It's. Really. Highly. RECOMMENDED!!!

More infos about the drama King of Baking, Kim Tak Gu

For the first time, I support 100% the antagonist character, Goo Ma Jun. It's bias, of course, because it's Joo Won!! Damn, his acting skills is undoubtly classy and real good.

     *SPOILERS ALLERT*

Though majority hope Yu Kyung will end up with Tak Gu, I sincerely hope she'll choose Ma Jun. And thank God, she does! I can't explain how happy and satisfied I was :'D.

Ma Jun has experienced such difficult pain since his childhood, I can't imagine how he'll be if he didn't get Yu Kyung. He deserved to be happy!!

Good Doctor cut Ep. 18 (ENG) - If I Were

I'm so speechless, trying to explain how I feel about this scene...
It's just so sweet, yet sad.
You know, when everything started with "what if".
Just how beautiful it will be, if...
But the fact that her feelings has overcome all of his flaws, it's totally wonderfully beautiful. :)

So happy for Park Shi On and Cha Yoon Seo :P

    Castle (2009)

Recently, I'm drowning quite deep into Castle, an ABC's crime series. The main characters, Detective Kate Beckett (Stana Katic) and Richard Castle (Nathan Fillion), are really cute together.

They do have good chemistry and make everyone who watched it wants to scream: Why don't you stay together and date each other!!!

Each episode made me laugh in different ways. xD

Castle Season 2 Episode 7, Famous Last Words

    Dienstag, 29. Januar 2013

    Cheongdamdong Alice (A Little Review)

    "Do you believe me?"

"I will try hard (I am not 100% confident)"

"Do you understand me? (I also can't understand you completely)"

"I want to understand you (For the first time, someone other than me)"

"Winston Churchil once said, that an immature person says: I love you because I need you. But a mature person says: I need you because I love you. I need you. Because I love you. Now I can't distinguish it either."

-Cha Seungjo and Han Sekyung, Cheongdamdong Alice

It's unusual, but weirdly I love it. :)

    ***

I've just finished the 16-episode K-Drama "Cheongdamdong Alice". Some dialogs are just too good to be left alone. LOL. People may not understand the meaning, if they didn't watch the series.

Anyway, I find the story rather interesting and different. It's not like the common comedy-romance, which we all can guess the plot. It's more honest, I think. It's not just prince and princess' fairy tales, where everybody loves unconditionally and "all you need is love"-kinda thing exists.

Long story short, I really like it (Moreover, there is Park Shi Hoo as the lead. Hohoho...).

    Cha Tae Hyun: OMIJA

Family Outing (Season 1) Episode 66
Guests: Cha Tae Hyun, Jang Hyuk

In this episode the Dragon Brothers (Cha Tae Hyeon, Kim Jong Kook, Jang Hyuk) are together xD. Love them so much!

They're playing the screaming challenge. Everyone had to scream 'omija' (a kind of fruit they picked that day)  as loud as possible. The winner was the one who screamed with the highest decibel and would be the 'Dinner King', which means he didn't have to work at dinner preparation.

Cha Tae Hyeon, who also known as the laziest guest, won the challenge and become the Dinner King.

This part always makes me laugh no matter how many times I've seen it.

    Like like like!!! XD

    The Cool-List

So, these past days I have a quite big fever-craziness for Kang Ji Hwan. Why? Because in my eyes, he's a real man!! Huahuahuahuahua...

Below is my criteria of how a man could be called as a cool man (physically), check it out!:

    • Tall, with long legs (tall people with long torso seem shorter than they actually are)
    • Good built, but not to much muscles, a bit six pack is enough :P (don't be Ade Rai or Arnold Schwarzenegger)
    • Short hair, not too spikey. Hair must not cover the entire ears.
    • Have either clean face or thin mustache and beard.
    • Big hand with long fingers
    • Healthy white skin, not pale.
    • Dark hair or ginger
    • Wearing suits (+100000000, bikin klepek-klepek)
    • NOT wearing too much accessories (just simple belt, necklace, handband, or rings, but not all in the same time)
    • Stand sturdy
    • Do sports (it's a MUST!!)
    • Do martial arts (+1 million)
    • Have a nice smiley eyes (reference: Lee Min Woo from Shinhwa)
    • Don't have to be flawlessly handsome, but when he smiles, he is (a smile that made a jaw-drop)
Aaandddd.... Kang Ji Hwan has it all. Nail it! xD
