Grieve

My family and close friends must've known, that my little sister and I were like cat and mouse, or cat and dog. Whatever. We. Fought. All. The. Time.

We'd started fighting even since she could barely talk. I found her annoying. And she might find me, too, annoying.

We're 8 years apart. That's how they tried to tell me, to give in and yield, by reminding me how much older I was and how she's just a baby. It could be translated as: "Do you have no shame to fight a little girl??"

But I could never understand the logic behind the argument. So what if she's 8 years younger? Wrong is wrong, and usually I'm the right one. Or so I thought.

There are things I couldn't understand. And she always found a way to tick me. Consciously or not.

Though our chinese zodiacs told a very different relationship: We supposed to be the best of best friends. Nevertheless, we fought often. Always.

Then I left when she was almost eleven. From then on, the routine communication we did were just on birthdays, Christmases and New Years. The older we got, the less we fought. Though maybe we should give the "distance" a huge credit.

But still... In all those years I often couldn't understand her. Why she'd done this and that. How could she?

To me, she'd always been that annoying little immature sister. Who made a mess in the house and did things as she liked.

Then tons and tons of her friends came to the funeral. Weeping and said: She was a very kind person. And suddenly I'm a proud sister.

I'm very grateful for the last few weeks with her. We talked a lot and not once fought.

But it also became my biggest regret.

It turns out very easy to talk to her. And I've wasted all those years just to feel like a sister at the last few weeks.

It took me years to finally be able to talk casually about my Dad. No one knows how many years it'll take me this time.

But I choose to live with the pain. It's not a thing you can forget. They say, people grow bigger around the grief. The grief itself never grows smaller. So the only way is just to live with it.

I'm still trying to.

It's just, as of today, I'm not big enough yet.

Now that I think about it, the reason why I couldn't understand her for years is because she's an extraordinary person. And I'm just an ordinary one. Afterall pretty flowers get picked first and God evidently has an impeccable taste.

Long Distance Relationship

Kita LDR-an.“:

1.) "Awww… that must be so hard for you“-pity look,

Dan

2.) "Aww… you poor gurl, he’s definitely cheating on you“-pity look.

Yes, long distance relationship is hard. Many times it's sucks too. It needs another level of trust, effort and comitment.

But honestly, infidelity is the least thing we concern about.

Whether it is a bad-chosen word or false intonation interpretating the written chats, disagreements mostly start with miscommunication and bad-mood rather than distrust.

So, for those who did the 2.), I’m sorry if you only know that kind of men or women.

LDR memang bukan untuk semua orang.

We’re lucky enough to be able to meet each other at least once a month, to live in the same time zone and that nowadays, with the modern technology and internet, we can communicate much more easier. Distance has been reduced into a single tap on the smartphone.

Tapi, menurut gue, alasan macam „Gue orangnya nggak bisa LDR“, kasarnya berarti „You are not worthy my efforts and hardwork,“ Lebih halusnya mungkin berarti yang bersangkutan tidak memprioritaskan hubungan yang membutuhkan extra effort dan waktu.

We choose to stay in the relationship although it has to be long distance. Because despite the hardships, our loved ones are worth the wait and effort. So, it basically depends on who you’re going to have an LDR with.

IMHO, everyone shouldn’t settle for someone you don’t think you can have an LDR with. You don’t have to do the long distance but just imagine, would you go as far as long distance to the greater future with your significant other?

Don’t get me wrong.

I’m not saying relationships beside LDR are easy.

Every relationship needs efforts and has its own problems.

Life is already hard without such drama.

LDR mengajarkan gue untuk mengatur waktu. I tried to finish my assigment before the weekend, when we supposed to finally meet. Then I could enjoy our date time without any burdens (I’m still learning though, as I’m a procrastinating sloth). Most of the times, the fun we had on our dates is enough to made me forget about the homework. LOL.

We plan our date, so no time wasted on „what are we gonna eat?“. Though sometimes we choose to stay-in and watch Netflix instead.

We also agree upon the importance of maintaining a hobby.

Me and my do-nothing-laying-around-time and he with his games and Gundam.

Gue selalu bilang terserah mau hobi apa, asal affordable (mau koleksi Lambo pun silahkan, asal nggak perlu pakai ngutang), dan paling penting: bukan main cewek. LOL.

I was not and will never be.

Luckily, I’ve known a good deal of my boyfriend before we’re deciding to take our friendship to another level of relationship. We’d been good friends for years, he’s still my very best friend. It helps a lot. Apalagi ternyata harus LDR.

We never make a schedule for Video-call or such. But we still call each other almost everyday. Not because it’s scheduled but because we want to. And I think there’s a big difference there.

I also try not to force anything to him. I sometime still nag though. LOL. Instead, I ask him to explain if something doesn’t quite right for me. We try not to make this relationship as „terpaksa“ because it’ll make all the fun go away.

Actually the key to a long-distance relationship is just like any other relationships: healthy communication.

Anyway, I was gonna say:

Don’t pity LDR-Couples.

Instead, give them support and hope the best for them.

Because we don’t mean to stay long distance forever. It’s just a phase for a greater future together. Everyone has his own journey and long distance is ours.

And if possible, don’t  judge and say things like, „LDR kok ketemu melulu?“.

Isn’t it good, that despite the long distance we still could manage to see each other?

Memang kadang terpikir, „Look at all of that money I spent on bus-tickets!“

I still live comfortably and enough.

The Good Samaritan

Entahlah

Ihiy, akhirnya ada mood nulis lagi. "Setelah" yah... setelah satu-satu urusan gue selesai. Uhyeah.
So, sambil diiringi Afgan di Spotify... here's a piece of my mind.

What is the one thing you could die for?

Pernah kah pertanyaan tersebut mampir di pikiran? It shows up in my mind sometimes.

I feel like I don't have sincerity.

I really hope I wouldn't come into such situation, where I have to choose between mine and others' lives. Takutnya gue bikin keputusan yang bikin benci diri sendiri.

I am Downtonised ❤

These past few months I've been completely drowning into good stories-hunting, which means lots of movies and lots of books. Well, not exactly movies but episodes of some TV-series I found really good. REALLY. GOOD. It really needs to be repeated to accentuate the meaning.

This time, my newest fangirling episode focused on the one, and one only, genre: Historical Romance.  I'm quite familiar with the genre and was actually crazy about it before, when I was 17 or 18 because of Bridgerton Series by Julia Quinn. Then the madness faded, not because I was bored, but more because I couldn't find any other stories comparable to The Duke And I or The Viscount Who Loves Me (both are the first and second book of the mentioned series by Julia Quinn). Until last few months when the limited access of internet forced me to find another source of entertaiment: books. I began to read books again and was shortly welcomed by the familiar feeling with words and sentences, that build up beautiful stories. I love that feeling.

I read mostly Julia Quinn's and Eloisa James', both are historical romance authors. I finished dozens of their works in weeks and my daily daydreaming soon influenced by it. The time when gentlemen rode horses and wore high hats, the ladies changed clothes six times a day and lived only to find the most agreeable husband, and so on. There are simple story lines: beautiful girl searched for husband, who mostly an aristocrat, extremly rich, and, fortunately, they fall in love with each other. Of course, there'll also be one or more missunderstandings in the way.

I do nothing else but read, even now when the new semester had begun. I am so enjoying reading good stories and let my imagination goes wild, that I'm becoming a trash: just lying there on the bed for hours and read. People would have no idea how hard it is for me, to leave my bed and book each day to, well, become human, which includes going to classes and doing the assignments. To be honest, eating and sleeping wasn't even on the top of my priority-list anymore these days.

But then I feel something wrong with my eyes, I couldn't see as clearly as before. I went to check my eyes and they said nothing was wrong. My sister then told me to stop reading in the mean time and let my eyes to rest. So, unfortunately, I had to put down the books. I then started to go online again and found some new-seemingly-interesting series: Da Vinci's Demons and Masters of Sex. Both are period series (still historical) and finished within a week. At the end there's not really a break for my eyes. *evil laugh*

Strangely, I feel my sight got much better now. Maybe there's a different effect from reading than watching, I don't know.

After finishing both series, which are really highly recommended so to say, I began to put my eyes on Downton Abbey, a famous successful british TV-series since 2010. It sets in years short before the World War I (1914-1918) and also afterwards.

I've been planing to watch Downton Abbey since years ago, even when I was still in Indonesia. But I always missed it on TV and I don't like to watch from the middle or with skipped episodes, so I chose not to watch and will try to find the DVDs or stream it later instead. Unfortunately, I never got the time or mood until last week. With all the historical romance feeling blooming inside me, I finally tried the first episode. Then the second. The third. And so on. I found myself not able to stop watching and I finished all 4 completed-series and the uncompleted fifth serie in a week. And then here comes the real madness.

SPOILERS ALLERT!!!

Changes

Huwaww... it's too long since the last time I wrote something ;;). I've been quite extraordinarily busy for this last two and a half months. Hence it's hard to spare sometime to think and write. Well, not to think actually, since I've got very much time to do so... but to write something worth published, one has to do some thinking first and that makes the writing process longer.

I got a summerjob for 10 weeks in a factory in a city far away to the South... Waiblingen. I was able to manage a 10 weeks accomodation in Stuttgart (thanks to my beloved friend, Heni, who happens to attend a university there), which only 30 minutes away from the mentioned city. Like any other summerjob for students, I wasn't required either to think hardly about what I had to do or to have an exceptionally perfect Deutch-skill. But I had to work hard. I had to stand up for about 8 hours a day and arrange hundreds, maybe thousands, of boxes of their products. Yes, I was in the packaging department. It's easy and paid well but it did hurt your arms and legs and did make a whole new definiton of being bored (there was time, I pretty sure the clock was broken). Once I was told to wash my face because I yawned until the tears come out in front of the supervisor. Despite of everything, I met a lot of good and friendly people there, who made it easier for me to get up every morning to go to work. I'm really grateful. :)

In the hours and hours I stood there and arranged the boxes, I became to have the skill to separate my actions and my mind, which allowed me to think a lot of things while my hands continuously taking the boxes from the machine and put those on their arrangements. I thought about a lot of things, about life and things to achieve in my life, about my plans for the future, about my descisions in the past, about what I must do next time I find myself in the similar situations, about what I should have said to certain people, why I am the way I am now, and many more. It sounds silly, but it's true.

Therefore, I decided to make some changes.

Waktu

Meet Helga and Sigi

"Beh, jauh banget, Bang."
"Ohh, jauh ya? Gue kira deket."
"Jauh, Bang. Gue 'kan udah pindah. Dulu waktu masi di Halle sih deket. Rumah Cici gue 'tuh masih di Halle."

That White Chocolate

The Cool-List

So, these past days I have a quite big fever-craziness for Kang Ji Hwan. Why? Because in my eyes, he's a real man!! Huahuahuahuahua...

Below is my criteria of how a man could be called as a cool man (physically), check it out!:

  • Tall, with long legs (tall people with long torso seem shorter than they actually are)
  • Good built, but not to much muscles, a bit six pack is enough :P (don't be Ade Rai or Arnold Schwarzenegger)
  • Short hair, not too spikey. Hair must not cover the entire ears.
  • Have either clean face or thin mustache and beard.
  • Big hand with long fingers
  • Healthy white skin, not pale.
  • Dark hair or ginger
  • Wearing suits (+100000000, bikin klepek-klepek)
  • NOT wearing too much accessories (just simple belt, necklace, handband, or rings, but not all in the same time)
  • Stand sturdy
  • Do sports (it's a MUST!!)
  • Do martial arts (+1 million)
  • Have a nice smiley eyes (reference: Lee Min Woo from Shinhwa)
  • Don't have to be flawlessly handsome, but when he smiles, he is (a smile that made a jaw-drop)
Aaandddd.... Kang Ji Hwan has it all. Nail it! xD

Herbst 2012

Jadilah cici gue nggak lepas badannya dari meja belajar -_____________- (Good luck, ci!)

Anyway, ini beberapa hasil jepretan kamera awam kita: Dari pocket camera sampai kamera hape. Hahahaha...

Unsere erste Exkursion

So, ceritanya minggu lalu (Rabu, 10 Oktober 2012) kelas gue mengadakan fieldtrip.

Herr Marceline

Today, I received a brochure from IKEA-Family.

Nggak perlu lah ya, gue bahas panjang lebar tentang bahaya rokok.
